A process of creation developed alongside local artists at Casa Boga in Mompox — an installation that invited historical and personal reflection on the region through movement around the paintings, while maestro Samuel Marmol improvised on the millo, the traditional cane flute of the region, prayers to the earth. Bol, the clay-like pigment long hidden beneath baroque gold, enters here as protagonist.
Earth carried from Colombian territories, including Mompox itself. Each painting is a place and a map. Ten works in bol — the red earth traditionally concealed beneath gold leaf — brought forward as the final surface rather than the hidden ground. Millo and silence activate the space in procession; the community gathered around what the land made visible.
