A body of paintings drawing on Pre-Columbian anthropomorphic references and tropical spirituality — compositions that question the monopoly of Christian representations of the divine by opening a door to an intangible world governed by the same laws as the visible one. A vectorial yet organic visual language, rooted in color and folkloric sensibility, reaches toward what is playful, latino, and alive.
The ritual was held by the presence of the paintings and the people gathered around them. At the close of the evening, attendants were invited to take the works down and carry them home — the body of work completing itself only once it dispersed into the room. Live ambient music responded to the themes of the space throughout. What remains is not the object but the trace of its passage.
